Access to safe and dignified menstruation is a fundamental need yet, over 100million women and girls around the world lack access to menstrual care. Caring For Girls with Period Initiative a Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC/lT/N0132310) registered Non-Governmental Organization (NGO)
founded in 2018 provides education to underprivileged girls and women about menstrual hygiene, sex education, the importance of education, self-esteem, and family planning choices amongst others. Over the years, we have been able to reach out to over 30,000 women and girls around and we intend to do more to make sure that period poverty is eliminated from Africa.
Volunteer Team Lead
To create an impact on millions of women and girls by educating them about menstrual hygiene, self-esteem, sex education, and the importance of education and empowering them through various outreaches and programs, while eradicating period taboos, myths, and shame.
To reach out to as many underprivileged women and girls in Africa and its environs, to educate them about menstrual hygiene, reproductive care, and health, and distribute menstrual hygiene kits to them as we walk towards completely eradicating period poverty in Africa.
Establishing these metrics to track the impact of the initiative, including the number of girls reached, improvements in menstrual hygiene practices, and changes in attitudes towards menstruation. Implementing these strategies, the "Caring for Girls with Periods" initiative provides comprehensive support to women and girls, empowering them to manage menstruation and all the decisions that come with it with confidence and dignity.
