Access to safe and dignified menstruation is a fundamental yet trivial need for women and girls especially in rural areas. Caring for girls with period initiative (GWP) has been able to support over 30,000 women and girls across Africa since establishment by providing and distributing sanitary and menstrual kits and educataing them about menstrual healthcare and hygiene, sex education, importance of education and self-esteem amongst others,

Our Mission

To create impact on millions of women and girls by educating them about menstral hygiene, self-esteem, sex education, importance of education and empowering them through various outreaches and programs, while eradicating period taboos and shame.

Caring For Girls With Period Initiative aids in educating girls and women especially the not so privileged ones about menstrual hygiene, sex education, importance of education and self-esteem amongst others. Over the years, we’ve been able to reach out to over 30,000 women and girls and we intend to do more to make sure that period poverty is totally eliminated from Africa.

We hold outreaches monthly in all our chapters, Both within and outside Nigeria (Including but not limited to Liberia and Sierra Leone). We visit rural communities, homes for girls and young women with special needs, prisons and schools. We educate these females about menstrual hygiene, health care, sex education, self esteem amongst others. During our outreaches, we distribute sanitary products to them for free, and give them visual demonstrations about how to use these products (mostly in rural communities). We have held outreaches in over 20 states in Nigeria including, Abuja, Lagos, Ogun, Benue, Nasarawa, Ebonyi, Kano, Imo and Anambra states.
