Caring for Girls with Period Initiative Inaugurates Precious Gems and Topflight Schools into the Girls with Period School Club.

The Girls with Period Initiative inaugurated Precious Gems School and Topflight School into the Girls with Period School Club project. The school club aims to train menstrual hygiene advocates among their peers as well as educate the students on the importance of menstrual hygiene, education and self-esteem.

The inauguration of Precious Gems School and Topflight School Clubs took place on March 5th 2025, in commemoration of the International Women’s month, with over 30 students in attendance. Mayowa Shitta, Head of Administration, introduced the purpose of the Girls with Period School Club Initiative and shared an overview of the project’s vision, mission and activities. This was followed by an inspirational talk on the importance of the student’s involvement in the school club by the School Club’s Teacher.
Following the school club teacher’s presentation, Patience Otuwe, Head of Operations, presented the club’s board and officially introduced the team to the students. A pad demonstration was conducted by Oreoluwa Adenekan, the Operations Intern and the meeting ended with the school club teacher encouraging students to join and actively participate in the club and attend future meetings.

Students Precious Gems School and Topflight School were excited to be a part of the School Club and promised their cooperation towards raising awareness for menstrual health.
